The strawbale cottage consists of 2 bedrooms, a living room, a fully equipped kitchenette with a fridge and a coffee machine, and 1 bathroom with a bidet and a shower.

Note:
Due to this property being a working farm with livestock, ponds & dams it is not suitable or safe for small children.

There is lots of native wildlife with visitors like Echidnas, Wombats and many native birds like the King Parrot. However you may also encounter insects, creepy crawlies and seasonal reptiles. For the safety of everyone, we kindly ask that pets remain on a lead at all times as snakes are sometimes spotted in the area. We share this space with nature and wildlife.

The wood fired hot tub can take 3-5hrs to warm up. Please allow plenty of time if you want to use it. Pre lighting can be arranged as an additional service.

We had a beautiful stay in Strath Creek. Vanessa & Mat have created a lovely place - the gardens and surrounds are stunning, so well looked after and full of flowers and native birds. The cottage is v...ery well appointed and comfortable and the hot tub at dusk, overlooking the hills is so relaxing. Communication with the hosts was really easy and they were very helpful. Highly recommend Strawbale Cottage for the perfect getaway.

Strawbale Cottage was a gorgeous off grid escape that had everything we needed and more. Could not recommend this cosy getaway more. Mat even came to check on the wood fire and hot tub for us multiple times!

Hosts, Vanessa & Mat were city dwellers who moved to the country a few years ago. Both of them fell in love with the valley & felt the need to share the beauty of this place with others.

We surrendered to the call of the river and it was a blast! I won’t lie, the crystal clear water was freezing cold because it comes from the bottom of nearby Lake Eildon, but for a hot day it was so refreshing and just perfect.
