Cosy Cabin with the Cows

WOW. That’s what we were thinking as we turned off the highway and began winding our way through the rolling hills, lit up in golden afternoon light, leading to Seclusions Blue Mountains for a girl's weekend. When we arrived, we quickly took in the beauty of our cute, cosy cabin and got settled in before walking to a nearby spot to watch the sunset and kangaroos hopping through the fields. Our first impression of this place was unforgettable!

We spent the next few days doing so much, while also feeling like we were relaxing and not doing much at all. We enjoyed pancake breakfasts on the balcony overlooking the cows in the paddock only metres away, laid on the sun lounges by the pool and LOVED the big spa bath (the shower was amazing too). We also explored the empty wedding venue on the site and got ideas for our own special days. We also ducked out to visit Lake Lyell and ended up at a lookout tucked in a nearby plantation with views of the mountains and lake.

The highlight? Our host gave us carrots to embrace our inner farm girl and feed the cows! These animals were so majestic and friendly and loved a pat.

I was sad to say goodbye to our little cabin and new friends, but Seclusions is the type of place I know I could go back to time and time again and never get bored of!

The pool at Seclusions is AMAZING. It is set up with sun lounges and umbrellas with amazing views over the valley. It's also right next to the tennis court if you want to take a dip between sets!...

While driving around, we came across Lake Lyell and its dam wall overlooking the valley. Lake Lyell is the spot for lots of activities - there's space to picnic, a campground, kids play equipment, a small cafe and a boat ramp. Parking isn't free so take a few coins....

These cows know people = food! They came right over when they saw us near the fence, even before we had food for them! They were so gentle and we couldn't get enough of them! The baby calf was extra cute....

Wow, this spot was amazing! We drove through the pine plantation and it did not disappoint! It was still so beautiful seeing the hills and sky softly coloured by the sunset! The sun went down directly behind us, so we think it would be even better for sunrise....
