Hot Spring Hideaway
Adventure in Warburton, Yarra Valley, VIC, AU
We stepped down timber stairs beneath gigantic Redwoods to find a path leading us to an enchanting little forest glade, adorned with pontoon lights and birdsong. Our weekend abode, a Mongolian Yurt, stands proudly besides a sublime little wood-heated rock pool, naturally fed from the nearby springs.
Instantly we felt calm as our minds were bathed with the serenity this place bestows. 'Ayala Yurt' lies nestled in the heart of East Warburton, only a short drive from Donna Buang and a myriad of other local rainforest adventures. You could easily arrive here and not leave!
Kookaburras, cockatoos and parrots called from the tree tops as we stoked the fires beneath the pool and prepared dinner in the alfresco kitchen. Stepping into the yurt was a treat for our senses, the ornate furnishings awash with colour and boho styling, a wood stove the centrepiece of this cosy little stay. With no details spared and a generous offering of breakfast and treats, Ayala sure had us feeling spoilt.
Lazing the days away in our own personal little hot spring was the highlight; a crackling fire below, a drink in hand and fresh mountain air filling our lungs as we watched stars come out above. It doesn't get much better!...
